The unauthorised sale of a young Chinese girl to a brothel in Macno was alleged against two men who appeared before Mr. T. S., Whyte Smith at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon on three charges arising out of the incident.

The defendants were accused of having taken part in selling the 'girl by frand for the purposes of prostitution outside the colony; (2), taking part in selling the girl for the purposes of prostitution outside the Colony and (3) taking part in taking the girl out of the possession of her foster mother.

WORKSHOP TO MOVE.

Owing to the need of the spaen it now uccupies on the Praya East Réelaniation for the completion

of the road widening work and the laying of stone and concrets gutters, the workshop of the Public Works Department, just beyond the Fire Station in-Wan- ebni, is to be removed to a more suitable location.

This workshop 'is an old establj- shed institution and houses all the lathes and other machinery used in connexion with the turn- ing and finishing of cagtings and the piping used for the water works department, and for the repair and testing of meters, t contulns also a blacksmith and a carpenter shop. A great deal of other repair work is done, there also for other departments of the Government
