HONGKONG,
Here is seen the French gunboat "Vigilante" illuminal- ed on the night of July 14th, the French National Day, as
she lay off Shameen.
Striking scenes marked the funeral of the late General Bramwell Booth. Thousands of mem- hers of the Army took part in the procession, à mulle in length, or lined the route. Photograph shows the collin on which rested the General's cap and Bible, borne on the ear which had carried him all over the world. Inset' shows the General's widow., (Photo: Central News).
A striking, picture of the 8.8. Lok Sun as she lay stranded off Samun Island after going ashore during fog in the early hours of Sunday morning. Assistance was rendered by tho rescue-tug Kau' Sing, H.M.S. Somme, the naval tug Poet Chau- cer and the lug Tuikoo, all the Chinese passengers, numbering more than 700, being enfely taken off, The picture gives a good iden of the dangerous rocks in the
locality. (Royal Air Force Official Photograph).
Two further photographs of the Lok Sun as she lay when stranded. The bottom one shows the rescue-tug Kau Sing in attendance. The danger- ous rocks in the vicinity mado; it inadvisable for her to make a closer ap- proach.
