The romantle career of un author has just come to light in the dis- closure that, "Henry Green," who wrote “Blindness" and "Living,” is the pseudonym of Mr. Henry V, Yorke,
Mr. Yorke, a nephew of Lord Leconfield and a great nephew of the late Earl of Rosebery, is to marry, at St. Markaret's, West- minister, on July 25, the Hon. Adelaide Mary, daughter of Lord Biddulp, old friend of his parents,
Mr. Yorke's second novel, just published, deals with factory and slum life, and is based upon his experience in British work- shops and their surroundings.
own
He told an interviewer that the greater part of his first novel was written whilst he was at Elon. At Oxford he became bared, and went to a big Birmingham works as an ordinary "hand.”
"At first I was a dort of store- keeper, then I passed on to be a pattern maker, later I became a moulder, and finally I was in the copper shops for about six months. Now I am in London, engaged in the business side of the firm.
" was treated exactly like the other factory employees. At first I was paid £ a week, and at the end of three years I rose to 30s.
Mr. Yorke's father is chairman of the Mexican Railway, and thoroughly approved of his son "go- Ing through It.”.
