Latent Strike.

The latest strike reported is that of the night shift workers of the gunny-bag department of the Tos Jute Mill, 64 Robison Rond. They are 300 in number and struck on Tuesday, demanding an in- crease of five cents per day for all workers. The strike had not been settled yesterday.

Striking employees of the China Soap Works, a British concern at 92 Yangtzepoo Road, who walked out on July 2, had not been settled yesterday. The workers of the Tuck Tal Iron Workers, 734 Point Road, are niso out. This strike atarted on June 27 and concerns a demand for an increase in wages. On Tuesday 11 butcher shops at Kiangsu suspended business, as a protest against the imposition of a fine of $2 by the Bureau of Public Health upon four of the shops for selling unstamped meat, The shops re-opened yesterday morning pending a settlement. of the matter.
