Washington, July 10. Thirty-eight nations hitherto have protested against the pro- posed new import tariff schedules, passed by the House of Repra sentatives and now before the Senate.

The profesters include Aud tralin (chially against the wool duties), Britain (against the duties on wood, glue et cetera), France, Austria (with regard to the general tariff situation and the balance of trado), the Nether- Jands (against the tariff on din- monds and bulbs), and Persia (against the duties on rugs).
