Proceded by an armoured cer, Marshal Chiang Kai-shok roached Poking last Tuesday to confor with Marshal Yon Hsi-shan regarding the perplexing northern situation. The Gorman gunboat Iltie foundered off the coast of Shantung on July 23, 1896. On Novombor 21, 1898, the Iltis Monument was presented to Bhanghai by the German com- munity and unveiled in the presence of Prince Henry of Prussia. It was erected on iha Bund near the Public Gar- den. Pulled down in 1918 after the Armielice, it now has bean ro-oroctod at the German School.
