Further amendments to the trooping programme as affecting the China Command have been made during the last few days but still no prevision is made for a bat- talion to relieve the King's Own Scottish Borderers, who are dus to leave. Hongkong for Poona early next year.

A highly cultured man, Dr. Rizal was unfortunately cut off in the prime of his years, but he had left behind a legacy of patriotism, which would surely be realised one day by his people. The apenkor spoke optimistically of the day when the Philippines would be in a position to command a separate seat on the league of Nations (Applause).

The concert that followed was a very enjoyable affair, those who took part, in addition to the orchestra, being Mr. G. d'Aquino, the Hawaiian Troubadours, Mrs.
