ALLEGED DETENTION,

FURTHER EVIDENCE IN SING-SONG GIRL CASE.

The two Chinese charged with the unlawful detention of a sing- song girl in the Ko Chow boarding house in Connaught Road, Cen- trul, on the night of June, 4-5, again appeared before Mr. E. W. Hamilton at the Central Magis- tracy yesterday.

It was alleged that the second accused met the girl outside a re staurant soon after midnight, took her to the boarding house and there locked her in a room,with the first accused. Sho туде ré- lensed in the morning at 7 o'clock.

One of the Chinese detectives who found the girl in the street, afraid to go home, told the Court that as a result of a report made by the girl's mother that she was missing, he was sent out to look for her. He found her in Queen's. Road Central, very frightened and surrounded by a crowd. He se companied her to her home in No. 10 Wing Kat Street, later going to the police station, where the girl made a statement as to what had happened.

Later, with another detective, ho want out with the girl who pointed out the two accused as the men who had interfered with hor.

The second detectivo gave cor- roborative evidence.

Tho register of the Ko Chow boarding house was produced and showed that room No. 18 had not been occupied on the night in question. The master of the boarding house sald. that he did not know elthor of the defendants. He was not in the boarding house on the night in question, and therefore could not say from his personal knowledge whether room No. 18 was occupied or not.

The police mentioned that en- quirles had been made of the folis of the hotel, but no one seemed to know anything of the accused or of the girl.

The death of Mr. Charles Ho- ward, which took place at Chiches- ter yesterday after a long illness, recalls the romance of that famous handicap winner, Priory Park,
