In the magnifcont tomb prepared at the foot of Purple Mountain, Nanking, the remains of the late Dr. Sun Yat-soa, the Father of the Chinese Republic," were laid to rest on June 1st at a caromony in which foreign nations joined with China in paying homage to the great leader. These ploturos give a graphic ides of the funeral ceremony. Under a brilliant sun, foreign representatives waited at the foot of the tomb of Dr. Bun Yat-sen for the arrival of the coffin containing the remains of the late Republican leader, Here is a photograph of a section of the foreign,diplomats waiting at the bottom of the 365 stops leading to the mausoleum, beneath the Purple Mountain. Upon the arrival of the catafalgue the mourners proceeded to the tomb, seen in the background, where they paid their last respects to the founder of the Chinese Republic.
