The machine shop of the Brigade workshops is one of the most interesting branobes of the Shanghai Fire Brigade. Hore it is that all spare parts ossential to the efficient work« ing of all stations are manufactured. Hose nozzies, snotion couplinge, connexions and many other brass and steel necessition are turned out.

Here is shown a completed fire engine built by shanghai labour in the hanghai Brigade workshops of Hongkew.. Every part, with exception of the chassis, has bean manufac- tured in the various workshops at Hongkew. Even the long extension ladder was made in the carpentry shops of the

department.
