The sinking of the Canadian aphooner" I'm Alone" in the Gulf of Moxico, with the loss of one life, by the U. S. coastguard cutter "Dexter" has brought a demand for a full inquiry from Canada. It was taken on board the U. 8, coastguard cuttor "Doxter" soon after her arrival in New Orleans. It is admitted, that the Canadian schooner was rum-running, but · it is claimed that she was outside the twelve-milo limit when ordered to heave to. It is understood that the United Stalas and Canada have agreed to submit the case to arbitration.

Another instance of American prohibition “frightfulness.” Our picturo shows the family of Mr. Joseph DeKing. Their house was raided by prohibition agents, Mr. DeKing was knocked unconscious, and Mrs. DeKing was shot through the stomach and killed. The boy retaliated by shooting one of the raiders through the leg.
