A good deal of difficulty was ex- Perienced in matching the men owing to weight differences. The wardara sent in 15 entries, but because of big differences in weight only eight fights could be arranged.

In the bout between Jessop and Cottrill plenty of vim was shown by both boxers. Cottrill got into dif culties in the first round but he put Jessop down in the second round, The latter, however, immediately reso to his feet.
Count of Nine,
After an even first round between McGrenvoy and Sweetlove, in which the former had the weight advantage, while the intter was better off as regards height and reach, Sweetlove was put down for counts of six and three but gamely carried on. In the last round Sweetlove was floored for a count of nine but he got to his feet again and held out until the finish.
The encounter between Linden and Bagen resulted in some exciting work, although Linden suffered from the effects of a badly cut right eye, which he recrived early in the drat injury round, Hagen went down three times in the second round, although he did not take a count. In the last round he had the best of matters. -
During the course of the evening, Wander Spoora gava a splendid ox- bibition of strength. Warder Spoors will challenge any man in Hongkong to a context of weight. Hfting, atrand pulling and bar bending for the title of the Colony's atrougesÉ IRAN,
