OBITUARY.

PROMINENT AMERICAN RAILWAY ENGINEER.

New York, Mar. 24. The death has occurred at the

age of 73 years, of Mr. Samuel Ren, the former President of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was one of the most famous railway engineers in the Unitód States, having, Charge of the con- struction of a belt line tunnel extension, of the Hell Gate Bridge over the East River, and of the main station of the Pennsylvania railway system-Reuter's Ameri- can Service.
