That Marahal Li Chai-sum is a virtual prisoner of Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, though his movements in Nanking are not restricted, is one of the main features of sensational reports from Chinese sources received in the Colony to-day.

It is feared that an outbreak of hostilities between Han- kow and the Central Government is imminent, Marshal Chiang having sent an strongly-worded telegram to Hankow in reply to accusations that Ninking troops are pouring into Kiangsi.

Another unexpected development reported, is the arrival in Hankow of General Pei Chung-hai, the Kwangsl leader, and it is suggested that he has consulted with Marshal Feng Yu- hslang with regard to the situation.
