POLICE SHOOTING PIQUANT DISPUTE

IN YAUMATI.

BENSATIONAL AFFAIR THIS MORNING.

THREE CHILDREN WOUNDED IN CHASE OF FUGITIVE

PISTOL THEFT SEQUEL.

Much excitement was caused in Youmati this morning as the result of a most unusual happening which resulted in three Chinese children being accidentally wounded, it le believed by police fire.

Full detalls of the afair are not yet available, but it appears that three revolvers were stolen from Wanchai Police Station last night. and that this morning the police succeeded in effecting the arrest of a young Chinese, about 20 years of 7 age, with, it is alleged, one of the

revolvers in his possession.

As a consequence of information given by this man, the police decid- ed to take him across to Kowloon for the purpose of identifying othera who are said to have been connected

with the theft of the firearms,
