The names of two Hongkong residents appear in the Honours List usually conferred on New Year's Day, but which has been; postponed until this morning on account of the illness of His Majesty the King.
Mr. Li Yau-taun, the Chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Hongkong, has been appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empira (C.B.E.) and Lieut. Col. Lennox Godfrey Bird, the Commandant of the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps has been appointed 0.B.E.
The Honours include 'three Peerages, nine Baronetcles, and; thirty Knights, the latter appointed mostly for political and public services.
