Now that the winter evenings are here we are all thinknig about making our homes cheerful places, in which to apend our leisure hours. So many homes that look charming by daylight. seem quite lifeless by artificial light. Pro- bably their owners do not realise how easily this can be remedied. Half an hour's consideration of the lighting of a room can often work.miracles at the cost of only A few shillings, and it is just as possible to express one's taste in lighting as in decoration.
