NEW BEADED FROCKS.

Exquisite workmanship distin- guishes the new bended models, while the shades Introduced are really exquisite. Delicate mauves, blues, and pinks never look so well as when they are embroidered in crystals, tiny pearls, and strays, with coloura chosen with the øye of an artist.

Draped skirts, outlined, pointed bodices, and quaint little apron of- fects are among the prettiest de aigns, while the embroilories them- selves are infinitely discreet.

A frock Been for the older woman,' in black shading to grey, and then, almost imperceptibly fading into white, was quite charming. The front, back, and sides of the skirt fell in delicately pointed panels, which gave added grace and dignity to the whole.

The Importance of the Shoe.

Shoes always have been an im- portant item in a women's toilette, but this year she will be even more eareful in her choice. For

And, however cold the weather may be, the Parisienne insists upon wearing light little shoes with flmy silk stocking, beneath which in wintry weather the ankles look positively blue.

One of the daintiest even-, ing dresses launched by a famous designer was carried out in white chiffon, with one shoulder strap composed of a double row of femeralds. A dropping cniffon bow, fasten- ed with an emerald buckle, adorned the other shoulder, while another emerald buckle fastened the

narrow belt above the tucked and, flaring skirt.

HASQUES AGAIN IN FAVOUR.

Basques are appearing on the new autumn dress models, and of

all the new features. offered are proving the most alluring.

Tall or short, plump or lean, women are falling to them un- hesitatingly. They are made in various materials from flimsy tulle and coloured lace to heavy for, and they have a decided charm. They are, moreover, a pretext for p slight pinch at the wearer's waist, just a suggestion of a waist line, nothing more pronounced than that, but it serves to mark the pretty Butllowing line of the basque.

A two-piece suit, which i' A modernised coat and skirt, had a hasque of black Persian lamb, a fur that is dearer now thun for a long time past. And, by the way, if you happen to have hoarded any strips of white lamb, now is the time to bring them out, for with their helm you may vie success- fully with millionaire rival in ermine!

Perhaps you will be less pleased to learn of another new feature in the world of fashion, and that is the return of evening gloves--half length only, but that is enough.

It was to be expected for trim- med dresses have a more ceremon- ious air than the beloved chemise- frack, and call for gloved hands.
