speech.

The American Civil Liberties Union heard of the matter and tele- graphed to the "Secretary- General," asking him for the name of his candidate for King.

The official replied, Bernard Shaw," and at once began an, netion in the local court to compel the Council to grant the "Royalists" permission to use the Town Hall.

When, however, it transpire 1 that the "Secretary-General" was really a Communist trying to pull the legs of the Town Councillors, the case was thrown out of Court.

Mr. Shaw stated. "I have not received any application yet."

"Would you entertain the lden if an application came along?" he was

naked.

"I am prepared to entertain any- thing." he replied. "In any case," he added, "It is nothing incredible that there should be a Royalist Party in the United States, but it would be a question of an Emperor rathor than a King, because the States are really a League of Nations.

"I have not heard of such a party

yet."
