MR. CHURCHILL AND THE LIBERALS.

SPECIAL

POST OFFICE NOTICE

XMAS LETTER MAIL "VIA SIBERIA FOR GREAT BRITAIN,

Xmas. Letter Mail "via Siberia" for Great Britain will be closed in

“TIRELESS FAULT FINDERS"|| PRESENTATION || GRD At 12:30 pm, on Friday, he 80th, par- .. "Chenonceaux."

Mr. Winston Churchill, Chan- cellor of the Exchequer, 'spenking at Harlow, in the Epping Division recontly, aald that Liberals were tireless in fault finding,

They were perhaps the best fault finders that existed at the present day and hardly anything cscaped their attention. ⠀

"You will hear how very bad the Government in, and how bad the Chancellor of the Exchequer fs-(laughter)-and what a mess he has made of the public finances. Well, I have had a very difficult job to do. I have had to try to finance the social needs of the nation and to provide for new services, such as the Widows And Orphans, Pen- sions and the Rating Scheme and a subsidy for sugar-beet.".

ร่

Mr. Churchill said that the Liberal Party wore at the presont time engaged in trying to secure a position by which they could held the balance of power in the next Parliament.

They say that they are the only true guides and that at least 500 candidates are coming for- ward. Some seem to como for ward and others go backwards, ' There is no lack of financial sup- port for their candidates, but; after a little while they seem to give in almost as fast as the new ones come along. It is like pour- ing water into a sieve, for it flows out almost as fast as it flows in."
