Sergeant Kelly, who visited the scone shortly after the accident reported that he found the body in a position which suggested that when the lorry got out of control the deceased, in his fright, jumped from the vehicle and was caught against the rocky embankment and crushed to death.

Leo Lou, the manager of the Nanking Transportation Company, recalled at the instance of the jury yesterday, stated that the vehicle was in perfectly good order when it was sent out on the road that day,

Leung Kwong, master of the steam launch Hop On, charged with falling to reduce speed to three knots when proceeding through the entrance of the Yaumati Typhoon Shelter, pleaded guilty and stated that he was at half speed, which was moderate, but as the boat's bottom had been recently clean- ed, his speed may have been more then usual.
