SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT FROM CANTON TO HANKOW.

FIRST STAGE DONE.

The first stage of the Chinese long-distance flight from Canton to Peking and back has been auc- cessfully completed, according to advices received by Mr. R. Vaug han Fowler, the airmen having reached Hankow at 4:30 pm. on Sunday. This means that the dis. tance of-550 miles was covered in seven and a quarter hours, which must be regarded as extremely satisfactory, seeing that notes were taken on route regarding the condition of the country.
