A very interesting game of foot-t ball was played on Tuesday after noon on the ground of the Chung Shan University; Canton, between the Hongkong Chinese Athletle Association visiting Canton in connexion with the Kwangtung Athletic Meet

In Tuesday's game the Hongkong, Chinese Athletic Association wero considerably stronger than their opponents and at half-time the score slood at three to all in favour of Hongkong. In the second half, Canton scored one goal after a centre from the right wing, Ozorio hended a brillant shot just past the goalkeeper into the corner of the net.
The final score was three to one in favour of Hongkong. The Canton defence were especially weak.
Tho Canton team consisted of A. T. Lay (Shameen Sports Club); W. II. Brown (Shameen Sports Club) and H.T. Dun- can, Captain, (Shameen Sports Club), Ozorio (Club Lusitano) and Chan (Lingnam University).
Another point that handicapped Canton very considerably was that as a team they had never played to-

As an example of craftsmanship the plotures were perfect. Evon in the most exciting episodes there was no theatrical over-emphasis.
The leading actors saw to that. They had taken part in the .kc- tuul fighting. Apparent realism was poignant enough to move the dullest imagination, and there was no clowning to offend in the humorous rollef.
Emotion, however, was intense throughout, from the evacuation of Verdun to Petain's "They shall not pass," and the fall of fort after fort until Souville alone remained to atop the enemy onrush to the battered Citadol.
The The acting was splendid. mentality of the French and Ger- man soldiers was finely contrasted and diversity of character was well illustrated in the different types, represented.
Those who saw Verdun immedi ately after the Armistice will find M. Leon Poirer's reconstruction of the famous battlefield Httle short of marvellous. He has produced the most dramatic and faithful picture of war seen at a cineman show.
