SUMMARY COURT,

A case of especial interest to the shipping community came before the Puisna Judge in the Summary Court yesterday when the Wing Shun and Co. sued Captain G. D. Arthur of Carmichael and Queen's Building, for the sum of $40,-

Mr. Hugh Jones appeared for the defendants. In explaining the nature of the action, Mr. C.A.S. Ruse, who appeared for the plaintif firm, said that Captain Arthur hired a launch from the plaintiffirm to take him out to a vessel in the harbour. Two trips were mado and Captain Arthur algned the chita. When a claim for payment was made Captain Arthur said that Captain F. Malm was the man who should pay.

Mr. Ras said that the only course left for him was to suo Captain Ar. thur, who in turn had brought in the third party, Captain Malm.

Mr. Hugh Jones said it was ad. mitted that they were personally liable was to the plaintiff but their caso that the launch was hired for Captain Malin. As the case stood it meant thers being one action Instead of two.
