In 'an interview published in the Observer, Sir Ronald Ross said that the whole problem of malaria provention was one for the Co- lonies themselves, and until they took it up little progrèss would bo made. In a way it was a cursa, We had no serious malaria prob lem in England. If we had the Government might be induced to move in the matter.

Sir Malcolm Watson, who is as- sociated with Sir Ronald Ross and who le to go out to Malaya short ly, quoted the Federated Malay an example of what States as could be achieved if the problem were tackled in the right way. Ho said that the cost of the Singapore Base would probably have been at least twenty-five per cent. more but for the saving offected by anti- malaria measures.--Router.
