They returned to earth by way of one of the spiral roadways built in this unique factory.

steering connexion-rod, should the balls be tightened In their sockets, until the springs acting on them are just tight or until the springs are partly compressed?
Answer: They should be tight- ened until the springs just begin to act enough so that there is no play, thus leaving practically the [full" compressive action of the springs to cushion the shocks that come from the front wheels to the steering gear.

Question: I have just over- hauled my 1920-car and find that I can advance and retard the spark-lever without making any difference in the running of the engine. This trouble: existed prior to overhauling. How do you account for it?
Anawor: We have not the igni- tion specifications of this car, but have the impression that it was high-tension magneto ignition. If the spark lover gives the full in- tended movement to the advance mechanism on the magneto shaft, that is all that can be expected. With the magneto which we think ls on this car, very little change in spark lever position is required through wide ranges of speed, as the inherent electro-magnetic re- action in the magneto armature itself largely takes care of advance and retard requirements. We should expect very little effect on the running of the engine by mak- ing uno of the slight range of spark timing usually provided in this Ignition system. If your magneto fa set correctly, it should give you good results, with little or no manual timing.
