Here is the big Amfot biplane in which Commandant Louis Ljikowsky and Commandant Casimir Kubala, Felish aviators, planned to fly the Atlantio in a scheduled hop from Lo Bourget Biold, Paris, to New York. The attempt met with disaster, the machine running into a storm and turning round to make'an 800-mile return flight to Europe made a forced/ descent off Cape Finisterre. Both airmen were saved.
