FIFTY SALOON CARS FOR HONGKONG.

Five senter saloon motor care, being operated as a taxi service will shortly be in competition with the taxis which are now running Ip Hongkong, according to a state ment made by a representative of a new company which has just been formed.

The new concern is known as the Hongkong and Shanghai Taxicab Company and has an office on the second floor. of St. George's Building, The managing director is Mr. Shen Kwong-ho.

The Company in a private one, its capital of about $100,000 having been subscribod locally by Chinese merchants.

The Company promises travel de luxe as it has placed a large order for 16.9 horse power Morria- Oxford saloon cars. These will not be changed in any way except for the addition of a taximeler,. Special taxi cab bodies will not be fitted, but the new taxis will have the same appearance as un ordinary private saloon car. The Compuny believes ∙that' this arrangement will go far to ensure the aurceas of its venture,
