ASSOCIATION.
We have received the following communication from our Hamburg correspondent, dated in the earlyTRADE REVIVAL SIGNS, part of June.
What was it that happened in Hamburg?
On election day (May 20th, 1928), when overybody's mind was daturally a little more excited than normally and whon the nerves of all Journalists and correspondents were subjected to exceptional strain, a phosgene tank sprang a leak in a remote part of Hamburg harbour.
An optimistic message from the Prince of Wales on trade revival, in which the need for new and more scientifle methods of marketing was emphasised, was read by Mr. C. A. McCurdy, president of the Advertis ing Association, at the inaugural session of the fourth Advertising Convention at Birmingham.
Over 700 delegates attended from advertising associations and pub licity clubs in all parts of the coun try...
The Prince's 'message' read:

Inquires into allegations against Clapton Orient Football Club aro being made by the Football Associa tion, and it is likely that a Commis-. sion will be appointed.
է:
Rumours concerning alleged ir regular practices have been current for some time, and, it is stated, were brought to the notice of tho Football Association when they were investigating charges brought by the Fulham F. C. against a director of the Oldham Athletic Club.
"We are making inquires into certain allegations brought to our Secretary of the F.A., recently "but notice," said Mr. F. J. Wall, cannot disclose what those allega
tions are."
The following statement was fasued by Mr. P. H. Arber, Chair- man of the Club, on behalf of the directors:
