At a third meeting of the ment- bers of the Committee of Severance of Economic Relations with Ja- pun which was held on the 28th inst., says the Canton Gazette, twelve measures were adopted. A circular notice was nccordingly issued, promulgating these mea- suren for the guidance of the pub- lic which is as follows:..
(1) Refusal of acceptance or clr- cuiation of Japanese bank notes, withdrawal of all de posits from Japanese banks, and suspension of remitanco of funds to Japan.
(2) Stop the sale of goods to,
and purchase of sume, from Japan.
(3) Prohibit the sale of Japan-
ese goods.
(4) All goods ordered from Ja- panese merchants shall be stopped by cable advices while the orders of goods for which prlees have been paid and the shipment of which cannot be prevented shall be sent to the Commit- tee for Investigation, when such goods shall be chopped and numbered, and an ne- curate statistical account shall be kept. The goods shall be then released, but no further orders are allowed. (6) Remaining stocks of Japan- ese goods in ware-houses and shops are to be cheeked by representatives of the Com- mittee, and stored up after having been recorded. »
