Under the patronage of Mra. C. C. Luard (wife of H.E. the General Officer Commanding), President of the Military Branch of the Ministering Children's League, a grand charity football match has been arranged to take place at Sookunpoo on Saturday, 31st March, kick-off 4.15 p.m.

From 3 p.m. onwards the Pipe Band of the 2nd Bn. Scots Guards (by kind permission of Lieutenant Colonel Sir Victor A. Mac kenzie, Bt., D.S.O., M.V.O., and the Officers, 2nd Bu, Scots Guards)} and the Band of 1st Bn., the Queen's Royal Regiment (by kind permission of Lieutenant Colonel R. G. Clarke, C.M.G., D.S.O., and the Officers, 1st Bn. The Queen's Royal Regiment) will play.

The ball to be used in this match has been kindly presented by Lane, Crawford, Ltd., and will be raflled at half-time. The price of the rafle tickets is 10 cents.

The tender Hesperus, which left| here last week in the teeth of the fiercest gale encountered on the West Coast of Scotland this winter, has successfully brought to an end the 12 weeks lonely vigil of the brave lighthouse-keepers on Skerry vore, Dhu Hearteach, and Hyskier. Theirs was an experience similar to that of the keepers of the Long- ships Lighthouse reported in the Morning Post on February 20. It was the worst ordeal experienced for over 25 years.
