CINEMA NOTES.

"THE DEMI-BRIDE" AT THE QUEEN'S.

"The Demi Bride," starring Norma Shearer, proves to be one of the really first-class comedies of the year. The picture opened at the Queon's Theatre on Sun- day and has been greeted by full houses. Although Miss Shearer bas appeared in a wide range of roles during her screen career,

it is probably safe to say that the utter lack of sophistication in this ane, her latest, seems more suited to her than some of the others in which she has appeared. The picture opens with Norma as a student at a French boarding school and keeps her as a naive and almost childlike person throughout, Low Cody la excellent as the gay young bachelor of Paris whose heart is captured by the school girl who nutrivals more worldly women. Carmel Myers handles the role of the stepmother in very satisfactory manner, while Dorothy Sebastian adds quite a number of laughs and susponse to the picture. "The Domi Bride" will be shown to-day for the last time.

One finds the same tendency re- vealed by the use of words like "vaguely." Ask a young person whether he or she liked a play or: n book or a person, and it is only too probable that the reply will be "Oh, vaguely." And a question to which every child should know the answer brings, "Oh, I haven't
