'Marshal Li Chai-aum was the honoured guest at a morning tea- party given by the Chinese Cham- ber of Commerce, Connaught Roud Central, nt 9 o'clock to-day. The Marshal arirved from Government House by motor, car, accompanied by Mr. Chu Chao-hsin, Foreign Minister to the Southern Govern- ment; Admiral Chan Chat, Chief of the Naval Department; and Mr. Li Man-yin, Chief of the Canton Revenue Council. On arrival the parly was met by Mr. Li Yau-tsun, Chairman of the Chinese Cham- ber of Commerce, Sir Shouson Chow and other members of the Cham-) ber:
Those present at the gathering as hosts numbered about thirty, these including the Hon. Sir Shouson Chow, the Hon. Mr. R. H. There was a large and represen- tative gathering at the reception by H. E. the Governor and Lady Clementi at Government House last night in honour of Marshal and Madame, Li Chai-sum. Thosej present comprised heads of lend- ing business houses and promin-| ent members of the Chinese com- munity.
The reception took place in the Ball Room, where the guests were announced by Capt. H. B. L. Dow- biggin, Hon. A.D.C. to' H. E. the| Governor, and the Introductions to Marshal and Madame Li were made by H E. the Governor.! assisted by the Hon. Sir Shouson Chow and the Hon. Mr. R. H. Kote- wall, who was accompanied by. Lady Clementi. Captain A. J. L. Whyte, A.D.C., and Captain B. R. Foster, Private Secretary, were also present.
