OBITUARY.

DEATH OF CAPTAIN M. COURTNEY.

We regret to record the death, which took place in England on De- cember 20, of Captain Michael Court- ney. He was an old China couster be ing master of vessels of the Indo- China Steam Navigation Company, giving long and faithful service. He died at the age of 66.

As a mark of respect all Jardine vessels in harbour yesterday, flew their flags at half mast.
