The girl's instinct is to shun risk. Miss G. M. She said:
Recently I had 50 boys to deal with and only 6. girls, but I am at most prepared to say that those 6 girls gave me more trouble than the 50 boys. When girls go wrong they are peculiarly difficult to deal with.

The case was one in which the British and Foreign Loan and In- Victoria- vestment Company.. street, S.W., claimed £14 169. from Mrs. Margaret Fromant, Lilling- ton-street, S.W., and by consent Mrs. Mary Ann Ferguson, Lupus street, Pimlico, was joined as co- defendant.
In September and November 1926 promissory notes were 'given for £14 and, £7 respectively. The two defendants and a Mrs. Keeble signed the first note and divided equally £10 they actually received: Mrs. Fromant and Mrs. Ferguson signed the second and divided the £5 advanced on it. They had paid back £6 58.
Sir. Alfred said to the money- lenders' clerk, Mr. Harold Sample, that 2,400 per cent. "seems a little excessive, even for Westminster." Mr. Sample: It sounds very excessive, but we have not im- posed the default clause.
