If the ammeter proves to be all right, it is probable either that there is something wrong in the generator itself or that there' the poor connexions in charging cireuit. If the battery cable connexions are loose or cor-} roded or the water is low in the? battery, the full charging current of 12-15 amperes will not flow, but when, this latter difficulty exists, the lights will turn overbright| when the engine is running.
