With the advance of the Nan- king Nationalist Armies, who are reported to have been victorious in a battle against the troops of General Tang Seng-chi, nt Chiu Tien, the atmosphere here is tense.

The situation is reflected in the fact that both the Japanese, and French Concessions are prepared for any eventualities, troops of these two nationalities standing by their respective Concessions.

As yet there has been no looting. It is expected that any moment may see the capture of Hankow.- Naval Wireless.
