VALVE ACTION.

(By Israel Klein.)

After a new car has been run' in, it should be at the height of its power. Nevertheless, it does- n't take much to reduce its power, There may be a leak somewhere in the engine to cause it to lose compression. The value action may become faulty, the ignition may not be timed properly, or the carburetor may not be adjusted to suit.

Yet here is perhaps the most tick- lish adjustment in the entire engine mechanism.

THE NEW BUICK

is the exhaust valve, that must be timed and adjusted properly. A valve that is held open due to lack of clearance between the stem and the push rod that rides the cam causes the compressed gas to es- cape through its opening before it has been ignited by the spark. This loss in compression results in less power.

"As dealers in Bulek motor cars, familiar with Buick's SU- premacy in sales volume to all ther medium priced motor cars, we wondered how it would be possible for Buick for 1928 to be a great improvement over the standard of previous Buick cars, already close to perfection," saya Mr. C. Special 56" track models

So extraordinary has been the success of the

new Morris "World" models introduced just a year ago, that, manufacturing econ- omies effected "during the year, coupled with the development of plant, enable Morris to offer a bigger range of cars, greatly improved in many respects, at prices substantially reduced,

A new type has been introduced for 1928, the 11.9 h.p. Morris-Oxford which gives the roominess of the accepted Morris - Oxford standard, and yet offers the low running and upkeep costs of the 11.9 h.p. Morris-Cowley.

The Cowley as well as the Oxford Models are now available with 56" track. Numerous detail but important improvements have been made throughout the whole range.

When these improvements are considered in conjunction with the reduced prices, it will be realised that the 1928 Morris cars offer far greater value than has ever before been considered possible. Nor has this value been obtained at the cost of quality. Continuing the rigid Morris policy, nothing but the finest "material that the world produces is used in the

production of Morris cars.

There is not only a wealth of new smartness, colour, luxury and beauty, but the performance of the car, while retaining in every respect, the stamina and power of Buick, is new and thrilling. There is a quick re- sponse that sends the new Buick smoothly through and around traffic. Fuel economy, too, has been achieved in the new design. Always economical, the Buick for 1028 has made further strides in this direction.
