ERRORS IN DIET CAUSE TOOTH DECAY,

CHEMICAL CHANGES.

The popular slogan that a clean tooth nover decays is probably correct if associated with the right defluition of a "clean tooth."

It is equally true that milliona of unclean teeth never decay. Of course, unclean teeth are not de sirable, because they permit the growth of bacteria that are usually associated with foul breath, they are unaesthetic in appearance and they are associated with irritations of the gums, cheeks and tongue that may be serious.

Breaking The Enamel.

The plaintiff was Mr. S. E. Solomon, who was represented by Mr. A. V. L. Davies, and defen- dants, Borneo Motors, Ltd., who were represented by, Mr. P. Storr.

The statement of claim is to the effect that the plaintiff purchased an Austin car on August 9, 1926, from the defendant company at a price of $1,500. On August 25, plaintiff paid $800 on account. On October 26, defendants seized the car and sold it. The plaintiff claimed the value of the car, $1,500, value of accessories seized About 1890 it was shown that with the car, damages for wrong-certain acids formed by the.action ful scizure and sale and other of mouth bacteria on a substance relief such as the Court might containing sugar when held in con- think just.

On September 26, the date on which, by the agreement the ba- lance of $700 was due, plaintiff failed to pay.

Seizure of the Car.

The exposed surfaces of the teeth seldom decay because the natural movements of the lips, cheeks and tongue help to keep them clean.

STABBED TO DEATH,

FATAL FIGHT BETWEEN JAVANESE SEAMEN.

In the Third Court at Singapore on Wednesday morning, before Mr. C. H. Dakers, the preliminary inquiry was held into the death of a Javanese stcker on the K.P.M. steamer Loudon, who was stabbed to death on board the previous night.

Evidence was given by the third officer of the ship, Mr. G. Y. Lignie, who said that at about 7 p.m. he was on board talking to other officers on the main deck when a member of the crew came up and said that there was a fight going. on in the forepart of the ship.

Witness and the others ran to the spot and saw the deceased lying in a pool of blood. The man was unconscious and died in a few minutes. Witness found a knife and later the accused sald to him. "I did it. The police then came and took the accused ashore.
