was presented with a silver cigarette box suitably engraved.

DISCOVERY OF THE PACIFIC CELEBRATED.-The anniversary of the date upon which the Spanish explorer. Vaaco Nunez de Balboa sighted the waters of the Pacific Ocean, was celebrated by members of the Pan-Pacific Union, at a tiffin at the Astor House, Shanghai. An interesting speech on the early Spanish pioneers was made by Father Corczal. Mr. C. T. Wang also gave an address.
