YESTERDAY'S RACES.
LARGE CROWD THE VALLEY.
In marked contrast to the open- ing day of the sixth extra race: meeting of the Hongkong Jockey Club, the weather yesterday was deni and a much bigger crowd was present. Under a strong sun, the course had dried up, and the going was good. Favourites were generally successful, but there were one or two upsets which lent variety and Interest to the pari-mutuel transactions. The cash sweeps were well-supported and were much large than on Saturday.
