A group of Hongkong athletic teams. consisting of rugby, soccer, hockey, tennis, golf and rowing aggregations, will arrive in Manila on the Empress of Canada, October 13, for a series of matches with the Nomad sports club, it was an- nounced here by the officials of the local organization, says the Manila Bulletin.

The players will remain in the city for nine daya as guests of the Nomads and every day of their stay, except one Sunday will be featured by competition. Several

members of the invading teams are from the British army personnel stationed in Hongkong while the others are employees of Hongkong banks and export and import establishments.

Baguio, Sept. 10. The Mountain capital was visit ed by one of the most destruc- tive typhoons in years early Sunday

morning. Considerable damage was done to both the business and residential sections as well

as to buildings in the neighbourhood.

The storm started at 2 a.m, and continued until 7 n.m. Sunday. The destruction was done, how- ever, before 5.a.m. By daylight many buildings were without roofs and large uprooted trees obstruct ed traffic.
