The King has approved the appointment of the Rev. Edmund Courtenay Pearce, D.D., Master of College, Cam- Corpus Christi bridge, to be Bishop of the new Diocese of Derby. Dr. Pearce, who has been Master of his old Collere (to which he went from Christ's Hospital) since 1914, was Vice-Chancellor of the University - from 1921 to 1024.
