WHEN BYRD "LANDED" IN FRANCE.-Heavy waves and crowds of souvenir huntors wrecked the fuselage of the "America" as shown in the upper of these two re- markable photos. The picture was taken after the plane was pulled out of the water. The lower photo of the rocky hoach at Ver-sur-Mer, with the "America" in the distance, gives a graphic idea of the spot to which fate, directed the ship after she was lost for hours over France in dense fog and rain. These photos were sent to America on the liner Aquitania. A Chris Craft s; co thost travelling at 45 miles an hour. brought them into New York from the liner's anchorage at Quarantine. They are the first to reach the Far Ea-t.
