BOMB IN CATHOLIC CHURCH BRITAIN OUT FOR BIG

ATTEMPTS TO SAVE SACCO

AND VANZETTI.

PROTEST MEETINGS TO BE HELD

IN BRITAIN.

ANOTHER APPEAL

FILED.

The agitation against the sentence of death on the Italians, Succo and Vanzetti, who are to be executed to-day, continues in various parts of the world. A feature of this 'international protest has been the anarchy associated with it, such as the use of bombs.

Latest cables report that a bomb exploded in the Catholic church in Chicago, in the heart of the Italian quarter, doing considerable damage. In Britain, eleventh-hour protest demonstrations are being held wherever there is an official representative of the United States, Meanwhile, by means of appeals, the defoger in the Sacco-Vanzetti case are trying to obtain a stay of the exertion. The Judge who passed sentence of death has refused to revole dis decree.

The previous reports that there was a change of tone at Hankow, appear to be borne out by news to-day that the Wu-han authorities have ordered the expulsion of certain prominent Cem- munist officials, as well as decreed that no members of the Kuomin- tang can be Communists.

Meanwhile at Nanking there is much unrest, both in civil and military circles, and this is probably aggravated by the arrival of numbers of wounded from the Northern front, where the Shantung forces are said to have occupied Pongse.
