At the time of his death Mr. Furbridge 'was 57 years old and for the past 29 or 30 years has been a residem of Shanghai. He origin ally came out to Shanghai for the firm of Messrs. Holliday, Wise & Co., a well-known Manchester firm (now Holliday & Co., Ltd.). with whom he remained for three years. After leaving that firm he became a broker, the occupation which he has followed since until the time of his death, being connected as a partner in the irm of Messrs. Far- bridge and Reynell, bill and bullion- brokers.
