MERCHANTS.

At the monthly meeting of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce held yesterday, amongst other things, a discussion took place as to the best way of restoring some of the Colony's trade.

Some time ago the Chamber sent letters to all the business guilds. In the Colony and asked them to submit any plan which they might have, which would as sist in restoring normal trade conditions, and no fower than ele ven replies have been received by the Chamber.
