The two most successful treat- ments for attaining the fashion- able slimness have been found to " be the orange, method and the apple treatment. Both are sild to be quick reducers, and both tend to improve the complexion and give a clear, fresh look to the skin.
If you decide to try the orange treatment, you must make up your mind to exist on orange juice alone for three consecutive days, taking neither tea, milk, nor water during that time. If you decide to try apples, then you must observe the same method, making your meals for the three days consist solely of apples. You may take them row, baked, or stewed, but no sugar may be used in cooking the fruit.
Kest is Essential.
Before starting the treatment you should weigh yourself, and decide how much you wish to lose. Then commence by existing for three days solely on the fruit you have chosen. Spend at least half the day during, the "fast" in bed, and take no strenuous exercise for at least three days after you re- that only very small meals should' be taken on the fourth day and no flesh-forming diet included. This is the first week's treatment. During the second week, one day only should be devoted to the fruit "fast" daring the third two anys, and for the fourth week one day. At the end of the month a considerable amount, often much as ten pounds, will have been lost.

THE PREVAILING MODES.
The clothes question is the most difficult, even for the woman with any amount of money, and few of as have that now.
You have a choice of two atyles this year. The very, very feminine, or the hard masculino. Personally, I like the feminine, though there are girla and women who look attractive in the boyish style of dress. You see lots of women with the dinner jacket kind of frocks. You know what I mean, tight satin skirts and coats of jet, or lame, or sequine, fastening at the waist with a big jewelled button, and showing lace or satin in front. When the face is very made up the eyebrows finely arch- ed and marked,, the hair drawn back from the brew and closely cut behind, this sort of thing has style But do you like it? I don't. In the day time the same girl puts on hard, tailor-made things, and bats like John Bull weare in pictures, or some little uncompromisingly stiff straw.
