A great number of these rolate to the Village of Tokwawan which has been almost entirely resumed to make way for now streets. Sums amounting to over three hundred
and fifty thousand dollars have passed through the hands of the Land Omcer and been paid out by way of compen- salion.

Two hundred and fifty, Crown were granted during the Leases year. This is the largest number in the past ten years, and com- pares with 178 in 1925 and 90 in 1924.
The Crown Rent Roll for Hange kong and Kowloon and the Village Crown Rent Roll were revised during the year. The total num ber of lots on the Hongkong ani Kowloon roll was 5.436, an in- crease of 258 on the preceding year Crown Rent amounted to $567,205.49, a decrease of $2,910.90 owing to surrenders, re-entring and resumptions.
