DIVISIONS IN FENGTIEN.

Old and New Factions.

Tientsin, June 4. The Fangtien Army has been divided into two factions, old and now. General Wu Chun-shong and others who belong to the old faction want to withdraw from this side of Shanhaikuan and pro- Berve peace and order in Man- churin, while the new faction which is led by General Yang Yu- ting, insists upon maintaining the status quo of the Fengtien Army by compromising with Generals Chiang Kai-shek and Yen Shih- shan. The two factions appear to agree on one point that they should ask Marahal Chang Tso-lin to retire from official life, in view

The Nanking Kuomintang Head- quarters has appointed a special committee for the province of Shantung, which they believe will soon como under Nationalist control. The committee consista of six commissioners, namely, Messrs. Ting Wel-fan, Chen Shu- nan, Yu Yan-poh, Ho Shi-yuan, Chen Yun-hsen, and Wang Chung- pei.

Gen. Ho Ying-yin, Commander of the 1st. Nationalist Army and Commander-in-chief of the East- orn Roate Armies, has issued a proclamation forbidding persons to recruit troops in the name of the Nationalist Army while flight- ing is going on at the front.

Gen. Ho says that at the present time there, are more than sufficient man to meet all requirements and, therefore, recruiting is not neces sary,
